Every year, Corcentric attends, speaks at, and/or exhibits at numerous conferences across the country. This year’s AFP conference was impressive but the questions were still the same
A couple of weeks ago, Corcentric had the pleasure of exhibiting at the Association of Finance Professionals (AFP) Annual Conference in Orlando. With more than 6,500 attendees, suppliers, and presenters, the Conference covered a wide range of topics central to the Treasury function. Unlike some other conferences, the AFP Conference was notable for its commanding array of decision-makers and influencers.
Yet, despite that fact, what is abundantly clear is that, even though adoption of P2P and O2C automation is growing, it’s far from a fait accompli for many companies. Many of the people that stopped by our booth still had many manual-based processing problems they were trying to overcome. Others had piecemeal solutions that still left much to be desired. And still others were just in the learning process. Ultimately, all of them were looking for solutions to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and help manage working capital and cash flow with greater accuracy.
This year’s Conference was about “breaking boundaries” and among the topics covered were those new technologies that are transforming the finance functions in companies of all sizes. We were able to display our unique expertise in the AP automation sector with live demonstrations of our COR360 AP automation solution that streamlines and transforms the entire P2P continuum, from PO to payment.
One entire track was devoted to electronic payments and included sessions on same-day ACH, virtual credit cards, blockchain, and overall transactional transformation for B2B. Companies understand that continuing the practice of writing and processing paper checks is no longer cost-effective, thanks to processing and postage costs, and is a drain on time. What’s clear is that this final step in automating the P2P process is finally getting the attention that it deserves.
Based on our experience this year, we are definitely looking forward to the 2017 AFP Annual Conference in San Diego.
