Kelly Barner from Buyers Meeting Point started off the month with a candid assessment on collaboration in procurement, proving proves that including stakeholders in savings, supplier selection and spend oversight processes is key for added value and continued transformation. This inference rings true as companies like Amazon add complexity and procurement and supply chain operations by blending various organizational structures as they take on new ventures. But how will next-generation buyers adapt as procurement continues to evolve?

Gérard Dahan, CMO and SVP EMEA for Determine, a Corcentric company, recently gave a keynote speech at Matinale Digital Achats 2019 (a procurement event in Paris), where he shared his vision of what the capabilities and key performance indicators will be for future buyers. By no means is it a short list, but it is do-able. Next-generation procurement professionals must be agile, hyper-informed and connected to be ‘future proof.’
