Emission Reduction Efforts Earn Source One Its Seventh-Straight SDCE Green Supply Chain Award

Willow Grove, PA, December 10, 2018 – The world-class Spend Management consultants at Source One, a Corcentric company, proudly accept Supply and Demand Chain Executive (SCDE)’s 2018 Green Supply Chain award. Every year, SDCE recognizes the forward-looking organizations who are making real changes in the world of sustainable Supply Chain Management. This is the seventh-consecutive year that Source One’s green Procurement team has earned this recognition. Capping off an exciting year for the firm, SCDE’s Green Award is a reminder that responsible businesses practices pay off – even in the short-term.

Arming clients with market intelligence, procurement best practices, and category expertise, Source One’s team has enabled countless clients to realize the value of a sustainable supply chain. Over more than two and a half decades, they’ve not only driven the Procurement function forward, but spearheaded the industry-wide conversation around environmental responsibility. Their past sustainability initiatives have included a direct materials project built around recycled materials and an ambitious agricultural byproduct initiative.

This year, the green supply chain managers are recognized for helping a Financial Institution dramatically reduce its carbon emissions. While the engagement started with little more than supplier consolidation in mind, it soon presented a valuable opportunity to diminish the client’s contribution to climate change. Source One’s Strategic Sourcing team conducted an RFP with the goal of identifying a best-fit armored services provider. In addition to the environmental benefit, opting for a single provider reduced weekly driving hours by 70 and produced 10% in hard dollar savings for the client.

“At Source One,” says VP of Operations, William Dorn, “we’ve always considered it our duty as consultants to urge clients toward environmentally responsible supply chain practices. Oftentimes this means working against the misconception that responsible operations are inherently costly. By identifying solutions that are both green and cost-effective, we change our clients minds while helping them deliver on their cost reduction and sustainability objectives.”

Interest in sustainable Procurement and Sourcing is nothing new. It is, however, increasingly essential for businesses to make sustainability a component of their mission. Consumers are more discerning than ever. What’s more, they enjoy considerable visibility into corporate behavior. Source One empowers future-conscious clients to optimize their approach to sustainability and serve the good of the planet without giving up on savings.

2019 promises to see the conversation around our environment grow even more intense. Source One looks forward to taking part.
